Features: Medical Physics is an important foundational theoretical course in higher medical colleges. To better implement the principle of "less is more," enabling students to grasp more modern medical physics knowledge in less time and enhancing their self-learning, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, we have compiled the second edition of "Study Guide for Medical Physics" based on the fundamental requirements of the Medical Physics course and the practical needs of higher medical colleges. This guide is designed to be used alongside the "Medical Physics" textbook, edited by Hu Xinmin, the planned teaching material for higher medical colleges (6th edition). The book is organized chapter by chapter, with each chapter consisting of the following sections:
Summary of Chapter Content;
Problem-Solving Guidance – Typical Examples;
Review Questions and Exercises Solutions;
Self-Assessment Questions.
The "Summary of Chapter Content" section guides students in reviewing the basic concepts of each chapter. The "Problem-Solving Guidance – Typical Examples" section summarizes problem-solving methods and techniques through the analysis and solutions of typical examples, though no uniform requirements are given for problem-solving steps, allowing students to choose based on their own needs. The "Review Questions and Exercises Solutions" section provides detailed reference answers for each question, enabling students to compare their own solutions. The "Self-Assessment Questions" section only includes answers without solutions, for students to assess themselves.
Some may worry: "If detailed solutions are provided for both review questions and exercises, students might become lazy and avoid doing them." This may happen to a few students, but we must trust the majority to remain diligent. They will carefully complete each question and exercise because they understand that the effective way to learn knowledge and explore truth is through hands-on and mental effort—practice leads to true understanding.
At the end of the book, there are brief introductions to some famous physicists, for the use of both students and teachers. While studying physics theory, we should trace its origins and learn the innovative thinking methods and unique research approaches of physicists. Einstein once said, "The pursuit of truth is more important than the truth itself."
