Features: This series of teaching materials was collectively compiled by experts and professors from 17 higher TCM and bone-setting institutions, including Beijing University of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, Jiangxi University of Chinese Medicine, etc., under the organization of the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is designed for undergraduate and postgraduate students of bone-setting in TCM universities across the country. TCM bone-setting is an important part of traditional Chinese medicine, with a long history and rich clinical experience, playing a significant role in safeguarding public health and having a great impact both domestically and internationally. With the development of TCM education, TCM bone-setting has evolved from a single discipline into an independent major. In addition to five-year undergraduate programs, many institutions now admit master's and doctoral students in bone-setting. According to the 1987 catalog of bone-setting majors issued by the State Education Commission, the Education Department of the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine organized a teaching material compilation committee, an approval committee, and various sub-disciplinary compilation committees for institutions that had established bone-setting majors. Following the teaching syllabus requirements, the compilers meticulously developed the materials, striving to maintain the distinctive characteristics of TCM, as well as the scientific, systematic, and comprehensive nature of TCM theory. They adhered to the principle of integrating theory with practice and correctly balanced inheritance and development. In terms of the depth and breadth of the content, they focused on the practical needs of teaching and the latest advancements in the discipline, while minimizing unnecessary repetition and gaps between disciplines. This ensures the implementation of the five-year bone-setting teaching plan and provides reference materials for master's and doctoral students.
