Features: Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a medical system rooted in the traditional social, historical, and cultural background of China, also known as Traditional Chinese Medicine. TCM boasts unique theories, a well-established system, extensive literature, invaluable experience, and proven efficacy. Over thousands of years, TCM has played an undeniable and vital role in the prosperity and development of the Chinese nation, while also making significant contributions to the health of people worldwide and the advancement of global medicine. With social progress and the development of the times, the demand for TCM among people in various countries has been continuously increasing. Knowledge of TCM has rapidly spread worldwide, and the use of TCM for disease prevention and treatment has been increasingly accepted by more ethnic groups and populations. The TCM industry has flourished in many countries and regions, and the internationalization trend of TCM has become increasingly evident. Medical activities such as acupuncture and TCM have been successively incorporated into legal and regulatory frameworks in some countries (regions). In the process of TCM internationalization, establishing an international standard system for TCM is of great importance, and talent standards are one of the main components of the TCM standard system. Examinations are the primary means of assessing a candidate's knowledge structure, theoretical level, technical skills, and practical abilities, as well as a key tool for implementing talent standards. Given the current lack of unified and standardized reference materials for international TCM examinations and training, the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies and the World Federation of Acupuncture Societies' Qualification Examination Department have specially organized the compilation of this set of "International TCM and Acupuncture Training and Examination Guidance Books." This book serves as the main reference material for international TCM training and exam preparation, as well as a textbook for member organizations and other educational institutions conducting TCM training. The "International TCM and Acupuncture Training and Examination Guidance Books" cover 28 subjects across six professional directions: TCM, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Acupuncture, Massage and Tuina, Orthopedics, and TCM Nursing. Each subject consists of three parts: "Examination Outline," "Exam Preparation Guide," and "Exercises." The "Examination Outline" lists the key knowledge points to be assessed, including three cognitive levels: memorization, comprehension, and application. It serves as the basis for compiling the "Exam Preparation Guide" and for candidates' exam preparation, as well as defining the scope of exam questions. The "Exam Preparation Guide" provides detailed explanations and elaborations on the key knowledge points outlined in the "Examination Outline." It is the essential content that candidates must study for exam preparation and the primary reference material for setting exam questions. The "Exercises" are sample questions organized based on the "Examination Outline" and "Exam Preparation Guide." They are designed to help readers reinforce their knowledge, assess their learning outcomes, and familiarize candidates with the common question types used in international TCM examinations. The writing of each subject emphasizes the fundamental theories, basic knowledge, and essential skills of the discipline. The scope of knowledge is guided by the principles of being sufficient and applicable, and the selection of content follows the criteria of being basic, essential, important, and practical, with a strong emphasis on practicality and scalability. To facilitate reading by TCM practitioners worldwide, all dosage-related content in the subjects is presented in the metric unit "g," without including ancient units.
