Features: Have you ever heard that crocodiles live in the sewers of New York? Did a friend share with you a secret recipe from the Amish? Or, have you ever heard a strange story from a friend, who heard it from the roommate of his sister, and her next-door neighbor swore the story was true? If so, then you have already heard an urban legend, a story that belongs to the category of modern folklore. Contemporary Urban Legends is filled with bizarre stories, including: warnings and advice; legends from the world of work; stories about love, sex, and divorce; tales of travelers; internet legends; myths of aliens and supernatural phenomena; and stories of the most frustrating moments in life. These legends help us develop a deep sense of life. They make us think about what is truly important to us, they may express our hidden fears, and importantly—they make us laugh.
