Features: The study of medical culture in the Western Regions has long been relatively neglected in China, with a significant gap remaining beyond the Dunhuang Tibetan medical documents and three Uyghur medical manuscripts. Interpreting and researching these unearthed medical texts not only helps to continuously clarify the historical appearance of this linguistic and cultural tradition in the Western Regions but also enhances the understanding of the history of Sino-foreign medical cultural relations. Moreover, it is highly beneficial for constructing the social life history of the Western Regions. This book takes the unearthed Central Asian medical texts in foreign languages as a comprehensive research subject, divided into 13 chapters. Except for the preface (Chapter 1, which introduces the research history of unearthed medical texts in the Western Regions) and the conclusion (Chapter 13), the remaining 11 chapters are generally organized around the following three aspects: First, discussing the internal relationships among the multilingual medical texts of the Western Regions. Second, based on the "Eight Divisions of Ayurvedic Medicine." Third, from the perspective of the history of medical exchange.
