Features: Yuke Zhengzhong (A Comprehensive Treatise on Pediatrics) was compiled by Qin Changyu (Jingming) of the Ming Dynasty. Qin was well-versed in pulse-taking and particularly adept in pediatric medicine, renowned for his miraculous treatments of infant conditions. Concerned that "pediatric books often err by being excessively cold or hot in their treatments, or by favoring excessive tonification or purgation, I have dared to compile a comprehensive and balanced work," he named the book Zhengzhong (Comprehensive and Balanced). The book's general principles draw from the essential teachings of the Neijing (Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon), followed by the words of renowned physicians from past dynasties, interspersed with his own insights. The reasoning is clear, and the content is highly practical, making it one of the representative pediatric medical books of the Ming Dynasty. The academic viewpoints it espouses also form a unique school of thought. Since the late Ming Dynasty, various manuscript copies of this book have circulated. In recent years, there have been printed editions based on handwritten manuscripts, but they are not widely distributed and often vary from one another. This edition has been carefully edited and annotated for publication, presenting a completely new appearance compared to the original, making it much easier to read. It is available for reference by Western and Chinese physicians specializing in pediatrics.
