At the turn of the century, during the International Year of the Ocean in 1998, the Chinese Society of Oceanography organized more than ten highly accomplished science writers to spend over a year along China's coast, taking and collecting over 2,000 images that reflect the typical and unique natural landscapes of the ocean. They meticulously compiled this series of books titled "Towards the Ocean." With detailed and exquisite images, vivid and engaging text, it depicts the beautiful and picturesque coastal scenery of our great motherland for young friends, showcasing the abundant marine resources, guiding them to explore the rugged coastlines, mysterious islands, and charming coastal beaches, as well as the fascinating world of marine life. It aims to help young friends understand modern ocean awareness and embrace the new era of ocean development.
