Liu Yong's philosophy offers young people a broader perspective and a touch of "coolness." His works have their unique charm and resonate well with the younger generation.
The late Nan Huaijin's teachings are timeless and elegant, yet they don’t fully address the trends of our alienated society. His works are like a rich, fragrant, and sweet wine. What I write is based on my own practice and deep experience. I will never forget to return to this real world.

As early as 2,500 years ago, Eastern philosophers began to delve deeply into the study and practice of "Zen meditation." Among them, the Buddha of the West explored it most thoroughly. Beyond realizing the causes of human suffering, the Buddha also proposed practical methods for liberation in this world. This method involves achieving self-control over the body and mind through Zen meditation, contemplation, and daily-life practice. Zen meditation is the foundation of Buddhism. If the Dharma (Buddhist teachings) were to detach from meditation and practical living, it would become empty and unfounded speculation. Zen meditation practice follows a specific progression, so it is essential to have a good Zen master guide you in.
Ten years ago, on a summer evening, I had the privilege of listening to Professor Zheng Shiyan speak about Zen in his home. Amidst the vast collection of Buddhist scriptures, the meditation hall, and the joyful laughter of his family, I deeply experienced what Zen joy is like. Professor Zheng Shiyan’s background as a psychologist and educator enables him to master the core of Zen and its progressive practice methods, making his teachings on Zen straightforward and easily accessible.
Although we may not have the opportunity to attend Professor Zheng’s lectures, through his books, we can still gain his insights into Zen practice and apply them to achieve personal purification and evolution in this present life. We can break free from past experiences, open our minds, and savor the joy of Zen in our daily lives.
