Features: The center of Qing history studies is in China. It is undeniable that excellent works on Qing history should be authored by Chinese historians. However, this does not preclude understanding and selectively drawing on the positive achievements of foreign scholars' research. It is also essential to introduce and analyze academic trends, cutting-edge issues, hot topics, and significant results of overseas Qing history studies in a timely manner, as well as to strengthen exchanges between Qing history scholars at home and abroad. Based on these fundamental understandings, the National Committee for the Compilation of the History of Qing, with its approval, has decided to compile and publish The Qing History Translation Series. Depending on specific circumstances, the series will introduce the latest dynamics of overseas Qing history studies through columns such as "Special Studies," "Selected Works and Documents," "Academic Reviews," "Interviews with Renowned Scholars," "Overseas Features," "Theoretical Debates," and "New Book Reviews." The Qing History Translation Series is a shared haven for all Qing history researchers and enthusiasts. Let us together nurture it with our hard work so that it can make greater contributions to the compilation of Qing history. The fifth issue of The Qing History Translation Series is compiled and edited by the Translation and Compilation Group of the National Committee for the Compilation of the History of Qing. Through columns such as "Selected Works and Documents Translation," "Academic Reviews," and "Book Reviews," the series introduces the latest dynamics, hot topics, and significant achievements of overseas Qing history studies, while also strengthening exchanges between Qing history scholars at home and abroad, holding positive significance for the compilation of Qing history.
