The remains at Lujiahe can be divided into seven phases and eight segments: the Chengbei Culture dating back 8,000 years; the Tianzhuanzi type culture, contemporary with the Erlitou Culture of the Central Plains; the Lujiahe Culture of the Shang period; the Zhou Liangyuqiao type culture from the late Yin Ruins to the early Spring and Autumn period; the Chu culture of the Warring States period; remains from the early Western Han period; remains from the Eastern Han period; and remains from the Six Dynasties to the Song and Ming dynasties. Among these, the remains of the Lujiahe Culture of the Shang period are the most abundant, making it the namesake of the Lujiahe Culture.
