China Agricultural Book Catalog

Publishing Time: Not available
Features: After the manuscript was sent out, it took a long time before I could read an article by Mr. Liang Jiamao published in the third issue of Academic Research in 1963. Mr. Liang pointed out many errors in the first printing of this book. Some of them have been corrected in this revision, while others have not yet been revised. In addition to expressing my deep gratitude to Mr. Liang, I also hope readers can refer to his insightful article.
Recently, Mr. Hu Daojing published an article titled "Lun Mengxi's Forgetful Records" in the journal Wen Shi. In it, he mentioned that some ancient Chinese agricultural books can be classified as belonging to the "Mountain Dwelling System." I strongly agree with Mr. Hu's opinion. In the article attached at the back of this book about Chinese agricultural books, I briefly discussed several systems or types of Chinese agricultural works, but I did not mention the "Mountain Dwelling" type. Now that I think about it, this was indeed an oversight. In the past, many works that could be considered agricultural books were indeed written by those "reclusive scholars." This is also an inevitable product of China's feudal small-peasant economy in the past.
