Features: In the new five-year plan, independent innovation has been identified as a national basic development strategy. We believe that industrial clusters are an important vehicle for independent innovation, because: ① industrial clusters give rise to a large number of new enterprises; ② exchanges between enterprises within the region facilitate technological innovation; ③ the concentration of entrepreneurs helps promote industrial organizational innovation and enhance regional competitiveness. Based on this, this issue features a special topic titled "Innovation and Upgrading," exploring the pathways for industrial cluster innovation and upgrading from different perspectives to form the core competitiveness of industrial clusters and provide a new perspective for building a resource-saving society and an environmentally friendly society.
