Features: This book is a collection of papers from the Beijing Women Development and Children Growth Forum. It highlights the theme of "Equality, Priority, Development," delves into the current status of women's development and children's growth in Beijing, provides abundant data and analysis, and proposes many corresponding countermeasures. It serves as a basis for formulating the "11th Five-Year" development plans for women and children, as well as a reference for relevant departments to study women and children issues and make decisions.
This book was compiled by the Beijing Women and Children Work Committee, Beijing Federation of Women, and Beijing Academy of Social Sciences. In anticipation of the 10th anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women, they jointly organized the "Beijing Women Development and Children Growth" Forum in 1995. The aim was to research and explore the achievements, existing problems, and necessary adjustments and countermeasures in Beijing's implementation of the Beijing Declaration, the Platform for Action, the "Two Program Frameworks," and the "Two Development Plans," as well as the promotion of women and children's development in the capital.
This forum provided a platform for theoretical and practical interaction among government officials, grassroots women workers, and department heads, achieving a multi-domain, multi-department, and multi-level theoretical research framework. It also found the optimal alignment between the study and practice of women and children issues.
