Features: This Yun Tu Kao is divided into three parts (Shang, Zhong, Xia) with a total of ten chapters, covering a rich content. It discusses both the era and historical process of the emergence of Yun Tu, as well as analyzes its structure and arrangement. It elaborates on the concept of "Deng Yun" and proposes new insights into the "Men Fa." Finally, based on an in-depth study of existing Yun Tu, it reconstructs an ancient Tang Dynasty Yun Tu. The book presents clear viewpoints, vivid language, and includes unique insights. The earliest Yun Tu available, Yun Jing and Qiyin Lue, are works from the Song Dynasty, and the fundamental argument of the upper part of this book is that Yun Tu originated in the Tang Dynasty. The research is thorough and convincing, and the author fully agrees. The lower part reconstructs the ancient Yun Tu, which is a meaningful attempt with fresh ideas, and the author greatly appreciates it. As for the middle part, regarding the understanding of the nature of "Deng" and the structural issues of Deng Yun Tu compared to the Qieyun phonetic system, the author has different opinions. The author and Mr. Pan Wenguo have exchanged views in correspondence and at the Guilin Conference in 1984. The author wrote a short article titled On the Concept of "Deng" (published in Yinyun Xue Yan Vol. 3). This is a matter of intellectual debate, and neither party imposes their views on the other or insists on uniformity. The author believes that the Society of Chinese Phonology should encourage the expression of diverse opinions and innovative ideas, promote a spirit of seeking truth from facts, presenting arguments with logic, and convincing others through reason, to foster the prosperity and development of Chinese phonology.
