These two events held profound historical significance, providing a crucial guarantee for comprehensively advancing the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new century. Since the 16th Congress, under the leadership of General Secretary Hu Jintao, the Party Central Committee has held high the great banners of Deng Xiaoping Theory and the Important Thought of "Three Represents," guiding the entire Party and the people of the nation to advance steadily in the great practice of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects. The Party's construction has also made notable achievements.
