Features: "" has been running for several years and has only grown better. The reason for its success lies in its approach—patient persuasion rather than issuing commands to readers. It not only advises others but also cautions itself, even setting up a column titled "Open Fire at Me" to expose its own shortcomings, weaknesses, and mistakes. Language and writing are like social habits—they are "stubborn." They cannot be forced onto a path of healthy development with just a single decree. It requires patient guidance, repeated warnings, leveraging trends, and fully recognizing the significance of "convention." Language and writing need standardization because they are tools for social groups to convey information and communicate ideas. Both the sender and receiver of information must share a common understanding of symbols; otherwise, communication cannot be achieved. This is the reason why language and writing emphasize standardization. What should be done about non-standard language and writing phenomena? Methods such as persuasion, advice, and (demonstration) should be employed. As for scientific and technical terminology, it not only requires general standardization but must also adhere to absolute standardization: standardization carries a sense of compulsion. Standardization and normalization are not synonymous terms. Of course, normalization does not equate to rigidity. If normalization is misunderstood as uniformity, it becomes rigid and formulaic. Any language or writing with vitality is not rigid—it evolves with changes in social life, and development necessitates innovation. Reasonable innovation will modify or supplement norms. Normalization and innovation are dialectically unified. Without understanding innovation, one cannot accurately grasp normalization. We hope our magazine will do even better next year: not only should it focus on persuading people to use single words and word stems correctly but also guide them to avoid creating obscure terms and incomprehensible sentence structures. Innovation that is not grounded in reason is not innovation—it is corrosion to language and writing. Recently, some publications have created sensational headlines that are irrelevant to the content to attract attention. Meanwhile, empty, verbose, and clichéd slogans in the style of large-character posters frequently appear. These are things that undermine normalization and hinder the healthy development of language and writing—they cannot be ignored. For this, we must also use the method of "" to "standardize" it.
