Features: The sixth issue of Sinologie fran?aise is a special issue on the history of Chinese science and technology. Most of the articles in this issue are related to the multi-volume History of Science project organized and compiled by the Istituto della Enciclopedia Italiana. Karine Chemla, who served as the editor of the Chinese section of this project, has provided a detailed explanation of the purpose, significance, and scope of the project, as well as the goals, selection principles, and general content of the articles included in this issue. From the over 70 articles that have been fully finalized, we have selected 20 as part of this issue, all written by experts in their respective fields who are qualified or familiar with relevant literature. The table of contents is as follows: Jean-Pierre Drége (Creation, Dissemination, and Management of Written Works), Fran?oise Bottéro (Standardization of Writing and Lexicography), Karine Chemla (Mathematics and Interpretation: Annotations on the Nine Chapters on the Mathematical Art), Sun Xiaochun (Formation of Ancient Chinese Astronomical Systems), Zhang Jiachong (Astronomical Institutions and Interaction, Transmission of Astronomical Knowledge, and Qualifications in the Han and Tang Periods), Chen Meidong (Ancient Chinese Calendars), Li Jianmin (Comprehensive Examination of Early Chinese Mathematical Methods), Francesca Bray (The Essential Techniques for Farming and Household Management), Catherine Despeux (Chinese Medical Classics from the Qin to the Tang Dynasties), Christian Lamouroux and Guo Zhengzhong (State Society and "Practical Learning" in the Song Dynasty), Annick Horiuchi (Mathematics in the Southern Song Dynasty), Feng Jinrong (State Control and Folk Astronomy), Fu Dawei (The World of Knowledge in Song Dynasty Notes: Taking Dream of the Red Chamber as an Example), Georges Métailié (Neo-Confucian "Observation of Things" in Song Dynasty Herbal and Natural History Works), Chen Jiujin (The Influence of Medieval Arabic Science and Technology on China), Guo Shirong (The Loss of Mathematical and Astronomical Knowledge in the Ming Dynasty), Zhu Pingyi (The Eastward Spread of Western Learning: Preliminary Contact and Calendar Conflicts Between Late Ming Chinese and Western Calendars), Angela Leung (Ming Dynasty Society and Medicine), Huang Yixiong (Firearms in the Ming and Qing Dynasties), Marc Kalinowski (Prophecy, Science, and Magic). In addition to the History of Science project, this issue also includes six articles on Chinese science: four of them were published in French or English in recent years. Considering the difficulties Chinese readers face in accessing and reading these materials, we have translated and introduced them here; the other two are published for the first time.
