Features: Rules of Origin can be seen as tools to protect one's own interests in international trade, so they must be utilized wisely. Hong Kong and Macau are Special Administrative Regions of China, but from the perspective of customs territory, each has tariff autonomy and implements its own customs system, making them separate customs territories of China. Goods from Hong Kong and Macau entering the mainland of China are subject to customs duties. This creates certain barriers for products originating from Hong Kong and Macau to enter the mainland. As a free trade agreement, the main objective of the CEPA in the field of goods trade is to achieve free trade in goods, eliminating customs duties on goods originating from each other between the mainland and Hong Kong and Macau, removing non-tariff measures, and promoting mutual trade and economic integration. In this sense, CEPA is a model of utilizing rules of origin. CEPA fully utilizes relevant provisions in the WTO and legally addresses the need for mutual consideration between the mainland, Hong Kong, and Macau. The content of CEPA mainly includes three categories: liberalization of goods trade, liberalization of services trade, and facilitation of trade and investment. Its scope is broader than that of rules of origin. The author of this book adopts a professional perspective in international trade research. From a professional standpoint, it conducts practical research on rules of origin and CEPA. It provides knowledge and inspiration for practitioners in import and export trade, as well as ideas and frameworks for professionals engaged in international trade and customs management research. The book introduces 11 chapters, including Introduction, Rules of Origin, An Overview of International Rules of Origin, China's Rules of Origin, The Bangkok Agreement and Its Rules of Origin, the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area and Its Rules of Origin, and an Overview of Rules of Origin in Other Countries.
