Features: This book takes the characters as the main thread, focusing on narrating 108 stories of 76 prominent figures. The basic structure is as follows: each character first has a concise biographical introduction, followed by one, two, or even three or four vivid and moving stories. In terms of material selection, the author initially primarily drew from Romance of the Three Kingdoms, but was not confined to its conventions. To make the characters more well-rounded, the stories more vivid, and to enhance the historical sense, the author appropriately incorporated valuable details from Records of the Three Kingdoms, Romance of the Three Kingdoms in Plain Language, The History of the Wei Dynasty, and even classical opera. My original intention was—to fully encompass the famous figures and humanistic essence of Romance of the Three Kingdoms while also providing readers of all kinds with a new reading and approach to understanding the epic of the "Three Kingdoms." To better cater to the tastes of the general public, especially young readers, the text is written in a simple and straightforward style. To stimulate readers' imagination and insights, the author has also interspersed a few comments throughout the text. As for the lifelike and impactful portraits meticulously drawn by Comrades Li Dong and Yang Feng, I am sure everyone will greatly appreciate them.
