Features: Events surrounding Xinjiang inevitably affect the stability and development of Xinjiang, as well as the national security of China's western region and even the entire country. Since 2000, we have begun producing the annual report Events Surrounding Xinjiang, analyzing and forecasting related issues, and internally publishing it for reference by relevant comrades. Building on previous work, we have made the 2003 annual report publicly available for readers. The 2003 annual report consists of a main report and several thematic reports. The main report provides a macro analysis and discussion of the overall situation based on the thematic reports, while the thematic reports delve into specific key issues. The entire book is edited by the lead editor but retains the academic perspectives of the authors of each thematic report. At the end of the book, there is an Annals of Major Events Surrounding Xinjiang in 2003 for readers' reference.
