Biology and Christian Ethics

Features: This book explores the relationship between modern biology and Christianity. To what extent has modern biology influenced Christian ethical perspectives? To what extent should Christianity accept the theories and practices of modern biology? Is animal evolution guided by a transcendent value? Do boundaries between species truly exist? What is the essence (Nature) of each species, including humans? The author criticizes Richard Dawkins, Wilson, and others in the book. He argues that these individuals have misused the name of science to reduce ethics to an evolutionary phenomenon and a sociobiological impulse, and based on this distortion, they have claimed what constitutes human morality. The author also criticizes some scientists and theologians who have contributed to the current tension between humans and the biosphere. However, the author concludes by returning to the ancient traditions of Christianity, believing that traditional Christian views are more capable of addressing the relationship between humans, animals, and the environment than modern science and modern theology.
