Features: This book is one of the works on geomancy in the "Treatises on Feng Shui" series of the "Imperial Palace Rare Manuscript Collection." The original manuscript was preserved in the Imperial Palace and is a meticulously copied Qing Kangxi-era edition, with excellent condition and high version value. In ancient China, there was a school of Feng Shui known as Xingfa, which left behind many books. However, most of them focused on finding dragon lines, determining (:, or burial sites), and identifying auspicious or inauspicious mountain shapes. They only briefly mentioned water shapes and their qualities, often discussing them in the final sections (such as our company's concurrently published "Ping Sha Yu Chi Jing"). In contrast, this book specializes in the form and energy of water, explaining that water shapes differ in their curves, reflections, encircling, diagonal flows, straight rushes, rebounds, and divisions of flow. It also explores the origins of water's form and energy from the perspectives of Liqi Tianxing (the theory of cosmic energy and directions), (:, or directions), and the techniques of drinking shapes and calling out (:, or burial sites). These aspects reflect the auspiciousness or inauspiciousness of water's form and energy. The original book provides detailed discussions on various methods for identifying and establishing water layouts for Yin and Yang dwellings, with illustrations and text. The editor has supplemented many additional illustrations based on the need for explanation, hoping to more clearly illustrate how ancient people actually selected locations for Yin and Yang dwellings. This book is a classic work on water dragon studies.
The content of divination is extremely vast, and for a long time, it has been misunderstood. To help readers gain a comprehensive and correct understanding of divination, this series has invited relevant experts to write two prefaces. The first preface primarily clarifies the role of divination in traditional Chinese culture, while the second preface primarily answers the question: "What is divination?"
