Features: I have been engaged in early childhood art education for many years and have deeply realized that a teacher's teaching style, methods of improvement, as well as their guidance and inspiration for young children, the verbal and non-verbal interaction between teachers and students, and their contact, all have a crucial impact on the growth and development of children's art. Traditional art education in the past often focused more on copying, with teachers drawing while children learn, and children drawing exactly as the teacher does—pure copying without deviation. The teaching objectives mostly revolved around drawing things accurately, rarely considering the needs and desire for expression in children during painting. This training method severely restricts children's freedom of expression and suppresses their creativity and development. Some may pay attention to developing children's imagination and creativity, but they pursue letting children draw freely according to their own wishes, without regard for their painting experience or abilities. Teachers rarely participate or provide guidance, causing children's desire to express themselves to be inversely proportional to the content of their artwork, greatly undermining their confidence.
How can we address the issues of and teaching? After a considerable amount of trial and exploration, I have found that combining children's songs with painting is one of the most effective approaches. It not only highlights a comprehensive teaching method but also greatly benefits children who are in the critical and explosive periods of language development, as well as those in the symbolic, high-interest, and expressive stages of art development. In kindergartens, we often see children holding a pencil in one hand while murmuring to themselves. This inspired me to try using children's songs as a teaching method for art. During the process, I focused on the rhythm and rhyme of the songs, making them easy to recite and emphasize children's understanding and creativity. This approach gave children more confidence and a sense of achievement. This method of combining language and action has supported the growth of many children.
The greatest wish for this book:
1. To let more children enjoy painting through activities like tearing, pasting, learning, reciting, and drawing, and to cultivate their interest in painting.
2. To let more parents experience the joy of parent-child teaching.
3. To let more colleagues contribute and improve through experimentation.
