Features: The Qinhuai River is the mother river of Nanjing and the cradle of its culture. For thousands of years, major historical events in Nanjing have largely taken place along the banks of the Qinhuai River, and important historical figures in Nanjing have mostly been active in this area. The Qinhuai River has accumulated an immense amount of Nanjing culture. In fact, Qinhuai culture is Nanjing culture, and the history of the Qinhuai River is the history of Nanjing. With our academic capabilities, it is quite challenging to write about the historical and cultural aspects of the Qinhuai River within a volume of fifty thousand or sixty thousand words. To be precise, we are simply unable to fulfill this task. The Qinhuai River flows endlessly, and books and historical materials about the river will continue to be written and published. We hope that this small book can become a drop of water, merging into the vast stream of Qinhuai culture and flowing steadily toward the sea.
