Features: In the 15th century, two famous historical works were published successively, one of which is the History of Han and Tibetan. The author of the History of Han and Tibetan is Dacangba Banjuezangbu, a native of Yarlung in the western part of Tibet. His deeds have not yet been recorded in historical books. The book is divided into two parts. The first part mainly records the lineages of kings in India, Han China, Muja (Western Xia), Tibet, and Mongolia, as well as the history of Mongol-Tibetan relations. The second part records the lineage of the Sakyas, the history of the heads of the Sakyapala regime, the transmission histories of various sects, the family histories of local leaders such as the Xialu household and the Jamsang Rinpoche, and other regional leaders. The History of Han and Tibetan is a valuable historical source, and the surviving printed copies are extremely rare. In recent decades, this book has gradually become familiar to Tibetan historians. Research based on this book has also increased. The relationship between the Yuan Dynasty and the Tibetan region is one of the highlights of this book. As everyone knows, Tibet was formally incorporated into the Chinese territory during the Yuan Dynasty, and the central government of the Yuan Dynasty exercised complete sovereignty over Tibet. This book provides detailed records of the relationship between the Yuan Dynasty and the Tibetan region in terms of religion, military affairs, taxation, law, post stations, and the appointment of the Bonchen. Today, due to the increasingly in-depth research by Tibetan historians on this book, the study of the relationship between the Yuan Dynasty and the Tibetan region has reached a new level. Scholars have gained more understanding of the establishment of post stations, the census, the appointment of officials, military campaigns to suppress rebellions, and the establishment of administrative institutions in Tibet during the Yuan Dynasty. Some scholars have drawn the important conclusion that the ethnic origin of the famous Yuan Dynasty prime minister Sangye was Tibetan based on the historical records in this book. In summary, the multi-dimensional description of the Sakyapala regime that ruled Tibet has given Tibetan historians a more comprehensive understanding of the subordination relationship between the Yuan Dynasty and Tibet. This is the historical value of this classic work.
