Features: This dictionary is an attempt to adapt to the new situations emerging in the surrounding areas of Japanese, with a particular focus on clarifying the subtle differences between a large number of synonyms that even native Japanese speakers find difficult to articulate. The dictionary features approximately 25,000 selected words and sets up about 6,000 synonym groups. Explanations extensively use example sentences and compound word examples to help understand the meaning and usage of synonyms in practical contexts. Additionally, it extensively employs synonym comparison tables, aiming to highlight the subtle differences between them through specific example sentences to identify variations in usage. This is an advancement based on the comparison tables in the previously published Modern Japanese Example Explanation Dictionary. This is why this dictionary, which is primarily a synonym dictionary, is also titled with "Example Explanation." Another new attempt is the addition of English expressions equivalent to the shared meaning of the word groups when necessary. This is also an attempt to leverage English as a tool to understand Japanese synonyms, grounded in the context of Japanese internationalization.
