After reading Comrade Chen Hongqiao's monograph "16 Lessons in Scientific Management," I have had some new ideas and reflections. Management activities have a long history, dating back to ancient times, but it was not until the early 20th century, with the emergence of scientific management represented by the "Taylor System," that management truly became a science with its own relatively complete theoretical system. Scientific management is the starting point and foundation of management science, while management science is the inevitable result of the development of scientific management. The gap between China and developed Western countries lies in China's lack of exposure to scientific management and its lack of a systematic framework for management science. Chen Hongqiao's monograph combines theory with a wealth of practical material, offering insightful analyses from different levels and perspectives, and proposing many thought-provoking propositions.
