"Pingu Learns English" is a multimedia learning textbook designed for children aged 4-12. After completing this series, children can reach Level 2 of the "Cambridge Young Learners English Tests." Child language education experts unanimously agree that joy, interest, and excitement help students remember and learn. Therefore, all teaching activities in this series are conducted through games, songs, chants, practice activities, and some interesting stories.
This textbook places strong emphasis on increasing children's vocabulary during the learning process. Each lesson in this book includes a section titled "Students' Key Language," which lists several words and phrases for children to learn. These vocabulary items have a high recurrence rate, providing children with ample opportunities for practice and learning new words. Through the study of these two levels, children can gradually build a vocabulary base to help them express themselves in English about things they encounter in daily life.
This textbook requires children to understand and gradually learn to use simple sentence structures. Children only need to respond to the sentences in the textbook and answer with one or two words. After children gain confidence during the learning process, they will be expected to answer with longer phrases and sentences.
In the first level, children primarily learn English through listening and speaking. This is because, compared to adults, children find it easier to master these two skills, while reading and writing are quite challenging for them. Starting from the second level, the textbook gradually guides children to recognize and write some familiar words in their daily lives. Since children at this stage already have a certain level of reading and writing ability in their mother tongue, the spelling and pronunciation rules of English, as well as the differences between English and Chinese, will not affect their learning and mastery of Chinese.
