Features: Have you ever heard strange howls in the middle of the night? Have you ever heard footsteps in the dark—yet couldn’t see anyone? Have you seen terrifying shadows, with eyes watching you from the gloom, or heard a voice calling your name from behind? If so, you should understand that peculiar tingling sensation—the kind that gives you goosebumps and leaves you stunned. In these books, ghosts whisper in attics; frightened children suddenly become invisible; scarecrows come to life and wander through the fields; puppets and dolls also have life and scare people everywhere. Ghost Stories II: Emily is an average student with a talent for performing with puppets. Emily’s older sister Sarah is not only a good student but also an award-winning artist. One day, her father buys Emily a new puppet. After reading the note inside the puppet’s pocket, Emily starts practicing. But then a series of strange things begin to happen. The Haunting of the School Play: Jake is a sixth-grade student at Wooster Mill Elementary School. He is both adorable and mischievous, sometimes enjoying pranks that leave his classmates in panic before bursting into laughter. The school decides to stage a play called The Ghost, and Jake is chosen to play the ghost, while Brooke is chosen to play the girl Esmeralda. Before the official rehearsals, Ms. Walker, the director, tells the students about the ghost story that happened in the school 72 years ago, as requested. But from then on, the shadow of the ghost falls over the rehearsal scene.
