Features: Interior design is a comprehensive art that shapes the atmosphere of space, and at the same time, it is an art that is difficult to express and master. Compared to other design disciplines, the most challenging aspect of interior design is how to present the designer's imagination in a form that the general public can understand. Paul Lasson, an American scholar, wrote thoughtfully in the perspective section of his book "Architectural Representation Handbook": "An interesting contradiction is that there are numerous publications on perspective as a drawing method, yet it is actually the least used in design work. Examining countless books on perspective, one realizes that most of them focus on the techniques of drawing perspective views, creating a sense of reverence in designers or drafters, but rarely discuss the utility of perspective views in the design process. Perspective views are often seen as meticulously rendered illustrations intended for clients to admire or for advertising purposes. Generally, such drawings are created only after the design process is complete and the final plan has been determined by the client, serving as a visual representation of the designed building or space environment." This phenomenon has become even more pronounced since computer drawing has become the mainstream method for perspective representation. In reality, true interior design professionals understand that hand-drawn conceptual sketches, including floor plan layout sketches, elevation composition and perspective sketches, embody the designer's initial creativity and graphic thinking. At least for now, computers cannot yet match human hands in this field. For professionally trained designers, the coordination between the eye and brain far surpasses the coordination between humans and machines, especially in the realm of graphic thinking. This book presents numerous home design cases and analyzes and demonstrates them to convey methods for handling home spaces, techniques for spatial arrangement, and concepts and attitudes toward home design. It also strives to explore the principles of home design. The book particularly emphasizes the importance of rational spatial arrangement in home design. In terms of expression, it adopts a nearly sketch-like form to quickly convey the treatment and application of spatial decoration, allowing readers to understand the general process of home design, master a method for home design and rapid expression, and explore and improve this method.
