Marcy's house became Snoopy's (dedicated) place to drink root beer. After playing a game of World War I, he would come to this imaginary "French cafe" to vent his imagined loneliness. Marcy was extremely warm to him, letting him drink as much root beer as he wanted, touch her hands freely, and even put his feet on the table like a mob boss day after day. Marcy got angry and couldn't take it anymore. She called Charlie Brown and asked him to come pick up Snoopy.
When night fell, Snoopy came again, but this time he was turned away—Marcy coldly said, "Sorry, the French cafe is closed." Snoopy and Marcy's honeymoon ended. The proud Lucy was subjected to the ultimate humiliation! While she was lost in her fantasy of a sweet love with Sloth, Snoopy took the opportunity to kiss her. This made her, who acted like a little queen, go into a frenzy. She ran home, turned on the shower, and scrubbed her mouth and body hard. Just then, Charlie Brown called her. He said in a surprised tone, "My dog came home and took a bath by himself!"
