Features: To adapt to the needs of the construction industry's development after China's entry into the WTO, implement the spirit of the "Notice on the Implementation of the Vocational Qualification Certificate System for Production and Operation Personnel in the Construction Industry" issued by the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, and carry out vocational skill training for construction workers to accelerate the overall improvement of the construction workforce, our press has organized the writing of the "Construction Vocational Skill Training Textbooks" based on the "National Vocational Standards" for the construction industry jointly reviewed by the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, as well as the "Vocational Skill Standards" and "Vocational Skill Job Qualification Norms" issued by the Ministry of Construction. This set of textbooks includes 12 positions, such as masonry workers, plastering workers, concrete workers, steel bar workers, carpenters, painting workers, scaffolding workers, waterproofing workers, testing workers, surveying and setting-out workers, plumbing workers, and construction electricians. On this basis, we have also added the book "Professional Ethics and Rights Protection for Construction Workers." The purpose is to enable workers in the above positions, in addition to mastering their professional skills, to also understand professional ethics norms and knowledge of protecting their own rights. It is also to align with the moral education activities centered on "integrity" conducted by national vocational skill management departments in the construction industry, meeting the urgent needs of vocational skill assessment institutions and training departments. The writing of this training textbook has absorbed the experience of training carried out in various places in recent years, striving to adapt to the requirements of the construction industry after China's entry into the WTO, fully considering the actual situation of the construction workforce, emphasizing practicality, and focusing on the training requirements of operational skills. The writing style is intended to be thorough yet simple and easy to understand. The content reflects scientificity, advanced concepts, targeting, and practicality. It is a textbook for vocational skill training for construction production and operation personnel. This book highlights the "knowledge required" and "skills to be mastered" for beginners and intermediate-level painting workers, with some coverage of training content for advanced workers. It provides a relatively comprehensive and systematic introduction to the relevant basic knowledge that workers in this trade should understand and familiarize themselves with, including basic and finishing work commonly performed, the use of common materials and tools, methods of surface preparation, and coating processes. It covers the procedures and basic techniques for solvent-based, emulsion-based, and artistic coating applications. The book summarizes new materials and new technologies. It also describes the basic techniques of wallpapering and glasswork, as well as common quality defects that may occur during the work process, their causes, and prevention methods. This book is suitable for civil construction vocational skill training textbooks and can also be used as a teaching material for practical training in relevant professional courses in higher and secondary vocational schools.
