August Unfolding (Revised Edition)

Author: Anni
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2005-08-01
Features: The 2000-published August Unreconciled is Anni's novel and essay collection, with a nearly equal proportion of fictional and (non-fiction) texts. It adheres to a low-key, cool style, interpreting fate and impermanence, love and death, farewells and wandering, forming her unique literary style that continues to this day. Five years later, Anni repeatedly re-examined her representative works from the stage of her writing career's adolescence. She boldly deleted most of the essays in the book and supplemented them with multiple short stories from different stages of her writing career in the revised edition. In the new August Unreconciled (Revised Edition), the fictional portion thus constitutes the majority, allowing readers to more clearly perceive Anni's current writing style. She continues to focus on and explore the complex emotional situations of a broad range of lonely individuals, the inner world of those on the fringes of society in the city. The inquiry into life and death, emotions and time has truly been her all-consuming game. Like several of her recent new books, the August Unreconciled (Revised Edition) also adopts unique design forms. The cover features a close-up photo of a cotton dress she often wears, intricate and magnificent, with a bright silver thread cutting through the pattern, giving it a touch of eerie color. The combination of the cover and the simple interior text aims to give this newly transformed "old" book a sense of the "slow determination" she desires.
