Features: This book was written in 1988 and was only published in 1993 due to various reasons. After its publication, it has been reprinted multiple times, and nearly a decade has passed since then. Although it has not changed the one-sided situation of "pedagogy," it still meets the needs of some readers. Overall, the reflection is quite good. To meet the needs of a large number of educational administrative cadres, teachers, and those preparing for postgraduate entrance exams, the book still needs to be reprinted. To fully reflect the current "educational issues" and my ten years of research achievements, this book must be revised. After revision, the book retains its original core content. The revisions include: 1) updating basic educational statistical data; 2) reflecting on important educational events in China over the past decade; and 3) re-examining fundamental theoretical issues in education. Despite these changes, it remains a revision, not a completely new work, and therefore cannot completely break free from the old framework. We kindly ask the readers for their understanding.
