Hong Kong Southern District Chamber of Commerce Feng Shui Consultant fully recommended, Feng Shui classic for buying and renovating homes. The Chinese have always valued the wisdom of survival, observing the changes of nature, and carefully selecting suitable environments for human survival and development, thus forming a discipline dedicated to studying the relationship between living environments and their layout. Since ancient times, the Chinese (harmony between heaven, earth, and human) has emphasized the unity of heaven, earth, and human to achieve a tranquil state that nurtures the mind and body. The book integrates ancient traditions with modern concepts, not only analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of residential site selection, design, planning, and construction from a macro perspective, focusing on the aesthetic appeal of the overall layout, but also conducting in-depth and meticulous research on micro aspects, such as the arrangement of study rooms, the layout of living rooms, the optimal placement of staircases, and even the arrangement of balconies with potted plants. It is presented in a clear and orderly manner, such as the arrangement of study rooms emphasizing auspiciousness and practicality. It provides essential details for buying and renovating homes, making it a highly practical home reference book. Chapter: Suitable Places for Living
China has always placed great importance on purchasing property. The belief is that "having a roof over one's head" is the foundation of a stable life. The ancients often used grand mansions to symbolize wealth, while describing poverty as "without a single tile on the roof or an inch of land beneath the feet." However, buying a home is a significant undertaking that requires substantial financial and human resources. When buying a home today, many factors must be considered, such as transportation convenience, environmental safety, and the quality of schools. Additionally, the internal structure of the house, the completeness of its facilities, and the adequacy of its supporting amenities must be evaluated. Beyond these, as real estate investors, people also hope that the property will bring them good fortune.
### 1. Considerations for the Community Environment
#### (1) Requirements for the Residential Community Environment
Why do designers create landscapes that simulate nature, such as flowing water and artificial mountains, within the spaces? This is because humans are inherently children of nature. Only in nature can one feel the joy of the body and mind. Some communities are built directly against mountains and beside water, achieving a highly ethereal state, but they may also present certain problems:
1. Terrain and Topography:
- Residential areas should not be too close to soft slopes. Buyers of villas, in particular, must pay special attention, as soft slopes may slide during heavy rains, leading to severe consequences. Additionally, building on a hill may offer a tranquil and elegant living environment away from the hustle and bustle, but the higher and more remote the location, the fewer people will live there. If the surroundings are empty and there are no other villas nearby, such properties are not ideal for investment or appreciation.
Houses built on slopes are often standalone villas, emphasizing scenic views and open spaces. Therefore, the terrain behind the house should be higher, while the front should be lower. However, the front should gradually slope downward, avoiding steep drops or cliffs, which give a sense of rushing down and negative feelings. Conversely, standalone villas built on a front-high, back-low terrain are not suitable. If the rear of the house is a steep drop or a cliff, it is even worse, causing fear and raising concerns about safety.
Buildings with a narrow front and wide back, or vice versa, weaken the (aura), giving a poor impression.
