Features: International economic law is a newly emerging legal discipline that has developed in recent years to regulate international economic relations. In China, it has grown alongside the country's policies of revitalizing the domestic economy and implementing an open-door policy. The publicly published and distributed monograph on international economic law mentioned here was written by the late Professor Liu Ding of our institution and published by China Renmin University Press in 1984. Professor Liu Ding made pioneering contributions to the teaching and research of international economic law in China. Over the past decade and a half, significant changes in international and domestic economic relations and related legislation have greatly enriched the content of international economic law. As a result, a surge of scholarly works on international economic law has emerged, and research in this field has continued to deepen. To meet the needs of teaching and research on international economic law in Chinese universities, a group of mid-career teachers and researchers from the International Law Teaching and Research Office of Renmin University of China, among others, collectively compiled this textbook. This textbook strives to elucidate the fundamental theories of international economic law while closely linking them to China's practices in foreign trade and international economic and technological cooperation, reflecting the new developments in China's foreign-related economic legislation and practice, as well as international legislation and practice. The book systematically discusses various major legal issues involved in international economic and trade transactions, including international trade, international investment, international finance, international taxation, and the resolution of international economic and trade disputes. The references cited in the book are generally up to June 1999.
