One of the important functions of political society is to address conflicts and disputes between individuals and groups, in order to harness the strength formed through cooperation to tackle various common challenges and strive to achieve better ideals.
Dr. Zhao Changfeng, the author of this book, attempts to apply theories and methods from multiple disciplines, including international political economy, combining normative and empirical research. Tracing the historical development of international financial cooperation (primarily since World War II) as a thread, with power and interests as the main axis, and various issues in international financial cooperation as variables, he examines the complex relationship between power and interests in international financial cooperation; analyzes the pros and cons of international financial cooperation; and, from the perspective of safeguarding China's national interests and promoting international financial cooperation, proposes the claims China should hold regarding power and interests in participating in international financial cooperation. He also analyzes the factors influencing the realization of these claims and explores feasible pathways to achieve them.
