Features: This book is a revision based on the 21st Century College Undergraduate Series Textbook "Electric Machinery" published in 2002, incorporating updates based on its usage and the development of electric machinery textbooks domestically and internationally. The book consists of an introduction and 6 parts covering transformers, common theoretical issues of AC machines, asynchronous machines, synchronous machines, DC machines, and micro-controlled motors, totaling 20 chapters. From an application perspective, it analyzes the basic structures, working principles, electromagnetic relationships, and operational characteristics of four main types of electric machines: transformers, DC machines, asynchronous machines, and synchronous machines. Considering the needs of subsequent courses such as "Power Drive Automatic Control Systems" or "Electric Drive" for automation and electrical engineering and automation majors, the book provides a more in-depth and detailed explanation of the main content of power drive, including the mechanical characteristics of AC and DC machines, principles and methods of starting, braking, and speed regulation, compared to traditional "Electric Machinery" textbooks. Additionally, to meet the needs of different schools, a more detailed introduction to micro-controlled motors is provided in the 6th part. As a result, through the study of this course, separate courses such as "Fundamentals of Power Drive" and "Controlled Motors" may no longer be required. For ease of learning, each chapter includes exercises, and each part concludes with a summary. At the end of the book, reference answers to some exercises are provided. To facilitate the use of this textbook, a multimedia teaching aid for "Electric Machinery" is specially launched and released alongside the textbook. A companion book, "Study Guide and Solutions for Electric Machinery," is also compiled and released to accompany the textbook. Therefore, the revised version of this book is more convenient and practical to use. This book can serve as a teaching material for courses such as "Electric Machinery" or "Fundamentals of Electric Machinery and Drive" for majors in electrical engineering and automation, electrical engineering and automation, and automation, as well as for reference by relevant technical personnel.
