Features: In recent years, China's landscape industry has developed rapidly, and landscape design has become a popular field. The enrollment scale of landscape majors has also been continuously expanding. Due to weaker art foundations before entering university, students need to spend a significant amount of time practicing expressive techniques during their short university years to become qualified designers. The primary purpose of students learning to draw is to lay a foundation for hand-drawn design, followed by cultivating aesthetic abilities and keen observational skills. Hand-drawn landscape renderings come in various forms, using tools and pigments such as pencils, pens, watercolors, colored pencils, tempera, markers, airbrushes, and oil brushes. By combining multiple tools, even more diverse styles can be derived. Through teaching and design work, the author has found that the combination of pens, colored pencils, and markers is currently popular in society and relatively easy for students to master. This method is conceptual, expressive, playful, and fast, more free and flexible than computer-generated renderings, creating lighter and more engaging visuals that better reflect a designer's artistic cultivation and artistic foundation. Starting from the elements of landscape design—such as grasslands, shrubs, trees, rocks, water bodies, small architectural features, and figures—the author explains techniques for both plan and elevation representations in an accessible and progressive manner, catering to students and peers passionate about landscape design. This book is tailored to the characteristics of students who generally possess high scientific and cultural literacy, strong intuition, a love and pursuit of art, but relatively weaker drawing foundations and limited life experience. It includes selected works from some students, though not yet fully mature, these pieces represent the results of their hard work and rigorous training over two or three years. These works can inspire beginners' interest and confidence, making it easier for them to get started and further stimulate their rich imagination and artistic potential.
