Features: Acupuncture and Moxibustion (For Traditional Chinese Medicine, Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine, and Other Majors) is a national-level planning textbook for the "11th Five-Year Plan" of general higher education, one of the selected textbooks for Chinese medicine and pharmacy in general higher education. Acupuncture and Moxibustion is a discipline that studies meridians, acupoints, manipulative techniques, treatment principles, mechanisms of action, and preventive and therapeutic patterns of diseases, guided by traditional Chinese medicine theory, based on inheriting and developing ancient acupuncture and moxibustion academic thoughts and practical experience, and applying traditional and modern scientific and technological methods. The main content of this course includes meridians and acupoints, needling and moxibustion techniques, and treatment. The writing philosophy of this textbook is to adhere to the principle of being practical for students and easy to teach for instructors, combining inheritance and innovation in the writing approach. In accordance with the teaching syllabus for full-time undergraduate acupuncture and moxibustion in general higher education and the national medical examination syllabus, this textbook is based on the fifth and sixth editions of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, fully absorbing the strengths of all editions while emphasizing "selection and refinement." The innovations of this textbook are reflected in: integrating the meridian and collaterals' courses with syndromes to demonstrate the completeness of meridian theory; organizing acupoints based on practicality, including location, indications, manipulation, anatomy, and notes, primarily focusing on commonly used acupoints, and providing an overview of all acupoints for each meridian in a tabular form, which reflects both refinement and the systematic nature of meridian and acupoint theory; adding the clinically common small needle knife technique to needling and moxibustion techniques to reflect the modern development of the discipline; and expanding the treatment section to include clinical characteristics of acupuncture and moxibustion diagnosis and treatment, as well as adding conditions such as shoulder numbness, neck numbness, dementia, tremor, childhood hyperactivity, childhood cerebral palsy, postoperative gastrointestinal dysfunction, postoperative incisional pain, and radiotherapy and chemotherapy reactions, to meet clinical needs. The appendix, An Overview of Modern Acupuncture and Moxibustion Research, is completely different from previous editions, primarily presenting the achievements, key points, and hot topics in the field of acupuncture and moxibustion research in an informative manner. The Ziwu Liuzhi and Linggui Feiteng Eight Methods are outlined concisely with a focus on clinical application. This textbook is suitable for undergraduate students in traditional Chinese medicine (including integrated Chinese and Western medicine, traditional Chinese medicine literature, health preservation and rehabilitation, orthopedics, family medicine, and other directions).
