Features: Normal Human Anatomy, a refined textbook for higher education in traditional Chinese medicine, is part of the national unified curriculum. This textbook was revised based on the original editions from the second to fifth editions published by Shanghai Scientific and Technical Publishers, in accordance with the spirit of the Ministry of Education's "Opinions on the Construction and Reform of Textbooks in General Higher Education." It aims to meet the needs of the development of higher education in traditional Chinese medicine in China, adhering to the principle of continuous refinement. The book is intended for use by students majoring in traditional Chinese medicine, integrated Chinese and Western medicine, acupuncture and moxibustion, tuina, orthopedics, and nursing.
Following the training objectives of "emphasizing quality, holistic optimization, and clinical orientation," the textbook stresses the "three basics"—basic theories, fundamental knowledge, and essential skills—as well as fully reflects the "five characteristics"—ideological nature, scientific rigor, inspirational value, advanced concepts, and practicality. It highlights the principle of "a bit more refined, a bit more updated, and a bit more Chinese," with the latter emphasizing the distinctive features of traditional Chinese medicine institutions. For example, the section on "Surface Landmarks" explains the anatomical structures related to acupuncture point localization, including bony, muscular, and skin landmarks.
Additionally, the textbook is accompanied by the "Experimental Guide to Normal Human Anatomy," which aligns classroom content with cadaver specimens and models, aiding students in reinforcing their learning. Another feature of this textbook is the inclusion of a "Guidance to Learning" at the beginning of each chapter, clearly marking key content for mastery and familiarity. This helps students review and prepare for exams, and institutions may adjust or select material based on the "Guidance to Learning" and their specific circumstances.
