It not only selects structural details such as plans, elevations, and sections of office spaces but also publishes a large number of corresponding images to facilitate better understanding for interior decoration professionals, related industry workers, and university students. In just over 20 years, China's interior design and decoration industry has evolved from obscurity and neglect to an unprecedented state of prosperity, which indeed makes us who have been involved feel incredibly fortunate. However, behind this facade of prosperity, there are also a series of hidden concerns—designers' (impulsive and superficial attitudes), excessive commercialization in design, and the marginalization of Chinese designers in the face of strong competition from foreign designers. These issues cause us great concern, as we know that these shortcomings will inevitably affect the healthy development of China's interior design industry. As a late-developing country, learning from the experiences of similar nations can help us avoid many detours. Japan and South Korea, our neighboring countries in East Asia, have valuable experiences worth carefully studying. Regarding the selected design works here, I would like to briefly mention one aspect: their focus on details. It is not an exaggeration to say that it is precisely this attention to detail that makes their designs of higher quality. Regrettably, the current design scene in China is dominated by (impulsive and superficial attitudes), and the quality of designs is often uncertain. For this reason alone, these designs are worth pondering. More importantly, we hope that by publishing this series of books, Chinese interior designers can gain some beneficial insights from the practices of Japan and South Korea, which share the same East Asian cultural circle, to address current challenges.
Upon reviewing various books on architectural and interior decoration, we deeply feel that there is a lack of visual expressions for stage-specific concepts in the current market. For example, the primary means of solutions—drawings—especially the scarcity of detailed drawings is particularly severe. Therefore, we decided to compile the "Interior Detail Design in Architecture" series. This series focuses on introducing and analyzing contemporary architecture and interior decoration, emphasizing the unity and harmony between architecture and interior design, and striving to guide the trendy and avant-garde trends in the field of interior design. The "Interior Detail Design in Architecture" series not only selects structural details such as plans, elevations, and sections of specific spaces but also publishes a large number of corresponding images to facilitate better understanding for interior decoration professionals, related industry workers, and university students. The entire series consists of eight volumes:
"Interior Detail Design in Architecture 01—Commercial·Medical Spaces,"
"Interior Detail Design in Architecture 02—Office Spaces i·ii,"
"Interior Detail Design in Architecture 03—Dental Hospital Spaces,"
"Interior Detail Design in Architecture 04—Commercial Facilities Spaces,"
