Features: Ten years ago, I once did a for my collected works and edited and published the five-volume "Tie Ning Collection." Today, ten years later, as I once again do a for my works, it coincides with the plan of Renmin Literature Publishing House to edit and publish the "Series of Contemporary Chinese Writers." As a result, this series of nine books is born. Among them, there are three volumes of novels: "The Rose Gate," "The City Without Rain," and "The Big Bathing Girl"; two volumes of middle-length stories, titled "How Far Is Eternity" and "The Cliff After Noon"; two volumes of short stories, titled "Guests Are Coming" and "Chocolate Imprint"; and two volumes of essays, titled "Walking Dreams" and "As Beautiful and Clear as Paper-Cuttings." Readers familiar with the author's works might notice that the novel "The City Without Rain" was published in 1994, but in 1996 when editing the collection, the author excluded it from the collection. The reason was probably that at the time, the author felt it was not substantial enough! It was even because it was too popular that the author became uneasy and began to doubt the artistic quality of the work. Ten years later, the author included it in this series of works because the author clearly realized that the writing of "The City Without Rain" helped develop the author's ability to structure a novel, and later works like "The Big Bathing Girl" and "Foolish Flower" benefited from this training to some extent. When a writer does a of their works, they should not overlook the writing that serves as a connection and foreshadowing.
