Features: The information service industry, as an important component of the modern service industry, holds a pivotal strategic position in the economy of the capital. Accelerating the development of the information service industry is also an important part of Beijing's informationization construction. The "Beijing Master Plan (2004-2020)" proposes "accelerating the construction of an information society, widely applying information technology, vigorously developing the information service industry, building 'Digital Beijing,' and ensuring that all social informatization indicators reach levels compatible with modern international cities." The "International Informationization Development Strategy (2006-2020)" points out that it is necessary to "promote a fundamental transformation in the economic growth model, widely apply information technology, transform and upgrade traditional industries, develop the information service industry, and drive strategic adjustments in the economic structure." It is evident that the information service industry is of great significance for promoting the sustainable development of the capital's economy and society, meeting the growing information needs of the people, and improving people's quality of life. According to the survey report, in 2005, the scale of Beijing's modern information service industry exceeded 100 billion yuan, reaching 107.57 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 33.5%. Among them, the information resource industry has shown particularly rapid growth, with its industry scale reaching 12.2 billion yuan in 2005, a year-on-year increase of nearly 100%. In 2005, the added value of Beijing's information transmission, computer services, and software industry reached 51.72 billion yuan, accounting for 7.6% of the city's gross regional product and 11.2% of the tertiary industry, ranking third after the financial and wholesale and retail industries. The supporting role of the information service industry in the development of the tertiary industry is becoming increasingly prominent.
