Features: China's environmental protection efforts rely on the innovation of environmental policies and systems. In November 2001, the State Environmental Protection Administration decided to establish the China Environmental Planning Institute. The main tasks of the China Environmental Planning Institute are to conduct research in environmental planning, environmental policy, environmental economics, and environmental management, providing scientific and technical support for national environmental planning, environmental policy formulation, and major environmental engineering decisions. Since its establishment, the China Environmental Planning Institute has gathered a group of dedicated, conscientious, and efficient young scientific research talents. To strengthen technical support for national environmental policies, important environmental plans, and major environmental engineering decisions, and to allow more environmental policy research personnel to share their research findings, the China Environmental Planning Institute has compiled and edited these thematic research reports into China Environmental Policy, which will be published in volumes over time. Without a doubt, these reports embody the thoughts of the young people at the China Environmental Planning Institute on China's environmental policies. It is believed that the publication of China Environmental Policy will provide valuable reference material for relevant government and research departments studying institutional environmental policies.
