Those who can truly understand and comprehend China can grasp the pulse of the world. What this journal contributes to the world is an academic projection of the Chinese economy. The Chinese economy has been growing briskly over the past two decades and more. It is also reshaping the global economic landscape forcefully and rapidly. It seems that the world is ill-prepared for the dramatic changes in China. This makes it all the more necessary for China to know itself and the world better, and for the world to understand China more. In that sense, studying China and discovering the worldwide impact of the Chinese phenomenon is a global topic. However, despite the fact that learning Chinese as a foreign language is becoming fashionable throughout the world, far few foreigners can read Chinese without difficulty. CHINAECONOMIST, therefore, comes in handy for our foreign readers as an English periodical that focuses on economics and business management, as well as other fields of social sciences in China. Specifically, CHINAECONOMIST takes it upon itself to inform the world of the latest academic progress in Chinese economics and business management, to publish original academic papers and research reports on the Chinese economy, and to disseminate the Chinese experience in economic development and corporate governance, as well as the results of empirical studies in these fields.
