Features: The application of coronary angiography has been nearly half a century. In the past two decades, interventional treatment for coronary heart disease, primarily based on percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) and stent implantation, has rapidly developed into a key method for coronary vascular reconstruction. Coronary intervention diagnosis and treatment technology has become an important component of cardiology and has been rapidly promoted worldwide. In recent years, the application of coronary diagnosis and treatment technology in China has also become increasingly widespread. Statistics show that in 2001, at least 40,000 coronary angiographies and 16,000 interventional treatments were performed in China. However, it should be noted that the development of this technology in China remains uneven. Many institutions have just begun this work, and many doctors and professionals need to learn and master the basic theories and skills of coronary intervention diagnosis and treatment. Many doctors also face the challenge of knowledge updates. Coronary Intervention Techniques and Instrument Selection was compiled by doctors from Beijing Anzhen Hospital, including Lü Shuzheng and Chen Yunda, under these circumstances. The chief editor, Dr. Lü Shuzheng, is one of the earlier cardiologists in China to engage in coronary intervention diagnosis and treatment. Most of the authors are middle-aged and young doctors working on the clinical front, who have accumulated extensive clinical experience in coronary intervention diagnosis and treatment. They have reviewed a large number of domestic and international literature in recent years and collected numerous images of instruments used in coronary intervention diagnosis and treatment. Combining their clinical practice and experience, they introduce readers in-depth and accessible ways to the indications, pathways, operational techniques, complications, and management methods of coronary angiography; provide detailed explanations of the basic techniques, instrument selection, and management of complex coronary lesions in interventional treatment; and discuss the rapid developments in recent years, such as intracoronary stent implantation, intravascular ultrasound, intravascular radiation therapy, drug-coated stents, interventional treatment for restenosis, and distal protection devices. The content of this book is comprehensive, rich, up-to-date, practical, and, making it suitable for beginners as well as providing valuable reference materials for professionals in the field of cardiology.
