Features: This book comprehensively and systematically introduces the basic composition, fundamental principles, basic control methods, as well as the static and dynamic performance analysis and digital design of modern power control systems. Part One Main Content: Based on the generalized mathematical model of DC motors, it establishes the closed-loop control structure of DC motors and the corresponding control system; analyzes the static and dynamic characteristics of closed-loop DC speed-regulating systems; introduces methods for reversible operation of DC speed-regulating systems; and provides digital control design methods for power control systems. Part Two Main Content: Starting from the mathematical model of AC motors, it explains the fundamental principles of modern AC motor variable-voltage variable-frequency speed-regulating systems, as well as static and dynamic performance analysis. The key content of this part focuses on constant-voltage frequency ratio control of asynchronous motor variable-voltage variable-frequency speed-regulating systems; vector control systems and direct torque control systems for asynchronous motors; self-controlled variable-voltage variable-frequency speed-regulating systems, vector control systems, and permanent magnet synchronous motor vector control systems for synchronous motors; and in Chapter 10, it also introduces the composition, basic characteristics, and working principles of AC position servo systems.
Preface Since the 21st century, the science and technology covered in the book Power Control Systems have seen new developments. Therefore, the content and structure of this book must also be continuously updated to keep pace with technological advancements.
Modern power control systems are an organic integration and intersection of multiple disciplines, including electromagnetism, power electronics, microelectronics, computer science, and automatic control theory. However, like any other automatic control system, their fundamental theoretical foundation is automatic control theory. For this reason, this book applies automatic control theory to focus on the analysis and design of power control systems.
The subject matter of this book originates from engineering practice and is both cutting-edge and advanced. It follows the writing philosophy of simplicity and gradual progression, as well as the principle of linking theory with practice. To prevent confusion in structure and excessive expansion in length, any content related to prerequisite courses (e.g., power electronics technology, computer control technology) is not specifically included here. Although actual power control systems are already digitalized, continuous (analog) systems have clearer physical concepts, making them easier for readers to understand and master. Therefore, the basic theories and control methods of control systems are explained based on continuous systems, while the design and practical implementation of control systems are discussed based on digital control systems. Structurally, this book is divided into DC power control systems and AC power control systems. Part One forms the foundation of the book, while Part Two is its focus. It should be noted that this course is highly practical, and experiments are an indispensable and crucial component for mastering it.
Chapters 1 to 5 were written by Li Qing, Zhang Yongjun, Hao Chunhui, and Li Xiaoli; Chapters 6, 7, 8, and 10 were written by Li Huade; Chapter 9 was written by Zhang Yujie, Chen Shujin, and Liu Huibo; Sections 8.5 and 8.7 were written by Ran Zhengyun; Sections 7.4, 8.6, and the appendix were written by Yang Liyong.
