Features: Vocabulary is the foundation of a language. If a language is likened to a building, then vocabulary is the bricks and grammar is the cement. Therefore, the mastery and application of vocabulary are both the focus of language learning and the key to language testing. It has been proven that the biggest obstacle students face in English exams is insufficient vocabulary and a lack of accurate grasp of word and phrase collocations. This is specifically reflected in: candidates often not fully understanding reading passages in exams; selecting incorrect answers for seemingly simple grammar structures and multiple-choice vocabulary; inaccurate sentence translation; using incorrect words in writing; being unable to express their thoughts appropriately with the right vocabulary, and so on. Vocabulary learning is the backbone of advanced English learning, and by grasping the backbone, one can see the details. Therefore, we have organized and compiled the "Golden English Vocabulary Collection" series, aiming to provide candidates with a quick vocabulary memorization method and expecting that through intensive vocabulary training, candidates will achieve a qualitative breakthrough in their vocabulary memory, and score outstandingly in the CET-4 and CET-6 exams.
Professor Zhong Daolong, a renowned English linguistics expert and test-taking expert, holds the following view: practice tests can only assess students' learning levels but cannot improve them; high-quality practice tests are sufficient after doing a few sets, the key is to identify one's weaknesses. Based on this view, this book is divided into three parts: Part 1, Detailed Explanation of Past Exam Questions, aims to help students identify their shortcomings from highly credible past exam questions and provide guiding suggestions for their review; Part 2, Simulated Practice, selects classic exam questions that comprehensively cover the vocabulary required to be mastered according to the syllabus, with detailed annotations to help students delve deeper into the syllabus vocabulary; Part 3, Effectiveness Test, follows the principle of being concise yet effective and includes three carefully selected test papers for students to assess their learning levels.
