Features: This book explores the humanistic foundation of the rule of law from three perspectives: ethics, epistemology, and existentialism. It argues that the goodness and evil of human nature in the ethical perspective, the rationality and empiricism of humans in the epistemological perspective, and the individuality and sociality of humans in the existentialist perspective are all intrinsically linked to the rule of law. However, fundamentally, the humanistic foundation of the rule of law across these three perspectives can be gathered as individuality and sociality in the existentialist sense. The goodness and evil of human nature, as well as the rationality and empiricism of humans, are all generated within the dialectical unity of human individuality and sociality. Individuality manifests as freedom, while sociality manifests as order. The essence of the rule of law is the dynamic balance between freedom and order.
